Peace: An Unbreakable Cycle

Woman looking over a blue ocean; seemingly at peace

It’s hard to find peace sometimes. The peace where you can close your eyes and just have calmness wash all over you. It’s the price we pay as regular adults. There's money, jobs, college, family, relationships, and so many other factors that get in the way.

What I've found is that it is a never-ending cycle. It’s not like one day you’ll wake up and these stressors just cease to exist. It will always be a part of you, and the most we can ever do is find a way to cope with it.

But how much? We all have limits to what we can bear. What happens when that boundary inevitably gets crossed?

It’s even worse today because mental health has globally become worse. We’re more anxious and more prone to burnout because we don’t know how to deal with these stressors. A lot of us suffer in silence because we feel like a burden on others when we complain about our problems. I mean, they have their own things to deal with, so why pile on with stuff they can’t do anything about?

The best we can do is to tackle them one by one. I don’t know about the rest of the world, but for me, I can't see further than today. I can't control what's going to happen tomorrow, and if I start to worry about an uncertain future, the cycle will get the better of me.

Take a breath and deal with what you have to today. And when tomorrow comes, deal with whatever comes then. The volume of stressors won't decrease but we sure as hell can control how they impact us.

Deal with today, today. Tomorrow can wait.
