Ayatollah Ali Khamenei Makes Rare Public Sermon (Unpublished)

Earlier this week, Iran escalated its ongoing conflict with Israel by launching dozens of missiles on Tuesday. Tel Aviv’s sky was illuminated with rockets as the city prepared for war amidst heightened tensions. Israel’s 'Iron Dome' defense system was fully engaged, successfully intercepting the missiles.

Both Israel and the United States warned of repercussions for any attack from Iran or Hezbollah. President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris monitored the situation from the White House Situation Room.

Following the missile strikes, Israeli citizens were instructed to shelter in place through text alerts and national broadcasts.

Iran claimed responsibility for the attacks on state television, referencing Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and Revolutionary Guard General Abbas Nilforushan, who were killed last week in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut. They also mentioned Ismail Haniyeh, a senior Hamas figure, who was assassinated in Tehran. While Israel has not officially claimed responsibility, many believe it was behind Haniyeh's death.

Earlier today, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s Supreme Leader, made a rare public address in Tehran, with a rifle by his side—the first time he has given a sermon in nearly five years. Thousands gathered, displaying photos of slain leaders associated with Iran’s "axis of resistance."

Khamenei stated that the attack on Israel was a lawful and legitimate action, citing the ongoing crisis in West Asia.
